It is so worth all of this effort!I had my 28 week baby by c-section almost 5 months ago. She was born at 1.1lbs. She was so tiny and it was so scary, but she was fiesty from the start and hasn’t stopped since! She is home and doing great, but still not able to breastfeed sufficiently at all, she is all bottled ebm now. Here’s to hoping we can sort it out soon. I am still pumping, but due to a rough try at exclusive breastfeeding my supply is waaay down. But I am going to keep on going! But for all those mums still in the hospital, first, buy a pump if you have a premature baby. You will be using it alll the time, and the cost evens out if you do the math, not to mention the convenience of having your own with you. I bought the ameda purely yours. It is awesome. And second, something NOONE will tell you, I have nipples on the larger size and I found the standard flanges weren’t working very well, I thought it was the pump at first. Soon I did lots of research and realized I needed a different flange size. I got the larger size and immediately my supply went way up, within a week it had pretty much doubled. The smaller size closes your ducts and will never drain you fully, which for me I was close to mastitis, or a blocked duct. |
